Employee ID generator - use it the easy way with GFOS

With GFOS software, employee IDs can be generated internally - on site, in data exchange with the software and with your personalized layout. These ID cards are then used directly by your employees for time tracking software and access control system. Visitor IDs can also be easily printed and encoded in this way.

Main features

Benefit from using employee ID generator & speed up routine processes

With the help of our ID card generator, your employees will only need a single ID for access control, time tracking software, contactless payment in the cafeteria and other purposes. The existing personnel master data is transferred one-to-one to generate the IDs - so there is no need to re-enter it in another solution.

The IDs can be printed directly from the GFOS software - including selection of layout and printer. Multiple layouts are also possible, for example to differentiate between different locations, visitors and external companies. Tailored to your individual requirements, printing alone is possible, but simultaneous encoding of the ID media is also an option.

Personalize the design according to your needs. Feel like getting a new look? We’ve got you covered: You can do it directly on site.

Fast response times

If an ID card is lost or defective, you can replace the old card with a new one. The cards can also be reprinted quickly without an external service provider.

Simple data management

All information is stored in your system. This means that the printed information is always up to date.

In use

ID card design according to your specifications

Our software offers you a professional ID card layout designer. It can be used to store fixed information such as colors and logos as well as variable information - including name, personnel number and location - from the software. Image files and photos can also be easily integrated and scaled. Thanks to our experienced partner IDENTA, it is even possible to integrate cameras for fast capture and processing of images.

The ID layout can be saved directly in the employee's personal data. This makes it easy to regenerate the ID if it is lost or defective.

Generate and directly encode employee IDs

Coding, personalization and printing of ID cards are carried out in the same system.  The internal use of LEGIC or MIFARE ID technologies for encoding makes the purchase of pre-encoded IDs superfluous; only the blanks need to be purchased in order to encode them at the company location. In this way, there is no need to pass on data to other service providers, thus ensuring the best possible protection of personal data.

Other features

Generate visitor IDs

You can also use ID printing for your visitors: simply generate and print/encode visitor IDs. If you do not want these to have a function, you can also print personalized ID cards.

Support for various printers

You can choose from a broad range of available printers. Decide on a printer model of your choice - all devices approved by IDENTA are available to you. For more information, you can visit the website of our hardware partner.

Various printing processes

The printers also provide you with various printing methods. Use monochrome printing, four-color printing, retransfer or thermal printing for your ID cards.

All features

Our integrated employee ID generator

Print directly from the software

Create once and process directly: it is practical to personalize the employee IDs from the GFOS interface.

Ensure data hygiene

Protect your data with practical in-house data printing. This means you do not have to transfer personal data to an external service provider.

ID card layout system

With the layout system, you can create your own individual design for the ID cards so that you only have to place variable information.

Encoding ID cards

Make the purchase of pre-coded IDs superfluous: with the system from GFOS, you encode the cards directly on site.

Print visitor IDs

You can also use printing for visitor IDs: the ID generation system prints cards with function as well as view cards.

What is LEGIC ID card technology?

LEGIC is a contactless RFID technology that is used in the areas of access control, time tracking software, cashless payment and other applications. It was developed by the Swiss company LEGIC Identsystems AG. The aim of the technology is to offer a secure and flexible solution for identification and access control. Two variants are used here - the choice depends on the company's access control requirements.

  • LEGIC Prime: this is a technology that is characterized by its modular structure. LEGIC Prime uses symmetrical encryption algorithms to guarantee the security of data communication between card and reader. A major advantage of LEGIC Prime is its high degree of flexibility: the system supports multiple applications on one card, so companies like to use the technology to combine access control, time tracking software, payment systems for the cafeteria and other functions for ID cards.

  • LEGIC Advant: this is a further development of LEGIC technology and offers enhanced security functions compared to LEGIC Prime. The system uses more advanced encryption algorithms and therefore offers a higher level of security. LEGIC Advant cards are typically used in security-critical environments where the highest standards of access control system and data protection apply. The card technology also supports the combination of different applications on one card, enabling the use of secure identification, access control and payment functions on one card.
What makes MIFARE ID card technology special?

MIFARE is a widely used contactless smart card technology that is used in various areas such as access control system, public transportation, payment systems and other security-related applications. The cards use RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology and are available in different variants, including MIFARE Classic and MIFARE DESFire. The choice of system depends on the requirements of the organization using it.

  • MIFARE Classic: this is one of the first generations of MIFARE technology - it was developed by NXP Semiconductors. A 13.56 MHz frequency is used here, which works with the ISO/IEC 14443-A standard. MIFARE Classic cards are still widely used today and offer basic security functions and various memory sizes.

  • MIFARE DESFire: this is a further development of MIFARE technology that aims to provide greater security and flexibility. DESFire also uses the 13.56 MHz frequency and the ISO/IEC 14443-A standard. However, compared to MIFARE Classic, this technology offers enhanced encryption and security features, making it a suitable choice for applications that have higher security requirements, such as contactless payment or access control systems. MIFARE DESFire also supports a higher data capacity and allows more information to be stored on the card. In addition, the process offers a more flexible file structure that allows application data to be divided into logical areas.
Can I only print or also encode?

You can carry out both printing and encoding on site. This means that the ID cards you need are available quickly. You purchase the card blanks and can act immediately - without having to rely on external service providers.

Which printing processes/which printers are supported?

In combination with the GFOS software, our partner company IDENTA supports a wide range of printers and printing processes. You can view the printers and the corresponding data sheets on the IDENTA information page on card printers. The card printing processes include the following:

• Thermal transfer process (monochrome)

• Thermal sublimation process (4-color)

• Thermal rewrite printing process (rewritable plastic cards)

• Re-transfer process (borderless color card printing, monochrome or 4-color)

Does GFOS.Access Control support MIFARE DESFire EV2 8K?

Yes, GFOS supports the MIFARE DESFire technology with all variants and memory sizes. Consequently, we support the EV1, EV2 and EV3 with a memory of 2, 4 and 8 KB.
